Bid Title: Solid Waste Removal for 890 Old Hadlock Rd.

Description: The board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, State of Washington, will receive sealed bids for: Solid Waste Removal, 890 Old Hadlock Rd.

Bids will be accepted until 9:30 am, on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Office of the County Commissioners, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., P.O. Box 1220, Port Townsend, Washington, 98368. Sealed bids will be opened and read publicly at 10:00 am, or shortly thereafter, on the same day in the Jefferson County Commissioners Chamber, basement level of the Jefferson County Courthouse.

This Contract provides for all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and facilities necessary to remove and properly dispose of all solid waste from 890 Old Hadlock Road, Port Hadlock, Washington, including but not limited to scrap metal, tires, mattresses, refuse, travel trailers, mobile homes, appliances and household hazardous waste; as well as remove in whole an estimated 160 junk vehicles including boats and boat trailers, and parts thereof, decant fluids, remove mercury switches and tires, crush vehicles, and deliver them for processing. Once the solid waste has been removed from the property, all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and facilities necessary to insure that all disturbed areas will be smoothed and sloped to match the surrounding areas and the covered with straw mulch.

Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the bid requirements on file at Jefferson County Environmental Health / Water Quality, 615 Sheridan St., Port Townsend, WA 98368, where copies may be obtained by prospective bidders. Printed copies may also be obtained by calling Jefferson County Environmental Health at 360-385-9444 and electronic copies may be obtained by e-mail.

It will be the sole responsibility of the bidders to ensure bids are in the possession of the Board of County Commissioners by the appointed date and time. No facsimile bid documents will be accepted. The Board of Jefferson County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to Jefferson County and to waive all informalities in the bidding process.

Jefferson County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000-4 and title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in and contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
