Jefferson County Developmental Disabilities (DD) Program is conducting a survey to assess community knowledge of services and supports, as well as knowledge of the level of inclusion and quality of life community members feel individuals with developmental disabilities experience in our community. We need community voices, and believe our community can provide a great deal of input regarding the available services for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
The Jefferson County Developmental Disability Program works with our community to provide opportunities to improve awareness, inclusion, employment and access for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. We believe that every person belongs to their community and their community belongs to them. In the last fifty years, we have seen integration and acceptance where there once was none, but much work remains to be done.
These surveys will also provide guidance to the Jefferson County DD Program, DD Advisory Board, and the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) to address barriers and gaps in local service delivery. And finally, we hope the surveys will help community members gain a deeper understanding of services and educational opportunities that are available.
There are three versions of the survey, one for self-advocates, one for support persons, and one for community members. The last page of the survey provides useful links to learn more about services and educational opportunities in Washington State and in Jefferson County.
This survey takes no more than 5-10 minutes to complete. Survey links will be active until October 15, 2020.
So, please join in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families by taking this survey.
Thank you for your time and participation. Please contact amcenery@co.jefferson.wa.us with any questions or comments.
