Under the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, state and local governments received Coronavirus Relief Funds which is financial aid to address COVID-19 related economic impacts at the state and local levels. The Washington Department of Commerce (Commerce) oversees contracts with local governments to administer these funds.
The Jefferson County Intergovernmental Coordinating Committee six community groups are helping the County identify priority needs and projects for the Board of County Commissioners consideration for funding. The six community groups are: Economy and Jobs; Children and Families; Broadband; Food System Resiliency; Human Services and, Culture and Events. These groups were asked to submit a prioritized list to the County Commissioner’s office by September 4, 2020.
