Jefferson County Code

Purpose

The Jefferson County Code contains the provisions under which the County government functions. The categories within the Code include revenue and finance; animals; health and safety; criminal code; vehicles and traffic; and others. The County Code is currently being updated. Some provisions may have been amended. Check with the Commissioner's office or the County Departments associated with particular Code provisions in regard to regulations currently in effect.

For matters related to land use, including the review of development proposals, protection of environmentally sensitive areas, enforcement of permit conditions and land use regulations, and the amendment of the Comprehensive Plan or its implementing regulations, consult the Unified Development Code (UDC), as amended.
