Although Community Service Work is performed by jail inmates on the chain gang, the administration of the program falls under the District Court Probation Department.

Loaned Executive Management Assistance Program
The purpose of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) Loaned Executive Management Assistance Program (LEMAP) is to provide management, consulting and technical assistance to Association members.

Project Lifesaver
Citizens enrolled in Project Lifesaver wear a small personal transmitter around the wrist or ankle that emits an individualized tracking signal.

Search & Rescue (SAR)
The Search and Rescue Council is made up of individuals who volunteer their time and efforts so that others may live. The council is made up of several different groups with different specialties.

Traffic Safety Programs
Deputies are responsible for enforcing traffic laws, investigating motor vehicle crashes, assisting motorists and educating the public about reducing traffic crashes and injuries.

Volunteers in Police Service Program
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Program enables volunteer citizens to contribute their time and talents to assist the Sheriff's Department with it's law enforcement responsibilities.
