COVID-19 Return to Childcare Flowchart
FREE home tests for people with symptoms or those who were in close contact at the following locations: Brinnon Fire Dept.; Discovery Bay Fire Dept.; Jeff. Co. Library & Bookmobile; Jeff. Co. Public Health Office; Quilcene Fire Dept.
  • Patients who are experiencing urgent symptoms like shortness of breath or chest pain should call 911.
  • Patients with COVID-like symptoms in need of medical attention may visit the Jefferson Healthcare Express Clinic, open every day from 9 AM-7 PM. Call 360-385-2204 before entering the Express Clinic. If experiencing an emergency health condition, go to the Jefferson Healthcare ER.
  • Patients who have had contact with a confirmed COVID-19-positive patient should call Jefferson County Public Health at 360-385-9400.
  • For non-urgent questions regarding testing and vaccinations, leave a message for Department of Emergency Management at 360-344-9791 to receive a call back within 24 hours,
  • Jefferson Healthcare and the Jefferson County Health Department do not offer travel-related testing. If your travel plans require a PCR COVID-19 test, you may visit one of the pharmacies listed below.

Rapid Antigen Tests

Now available for free by mail from the U.S. Government at and from the Washington State Department of Health here

Or, if you have COVID-19 symptoms or were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, you may pick up a free home test kit outside the entrance of the Jefferson County Public Health office beside QFC in Port Townsend during business hours. Please ring the buzzer and someone will bring one out to you. 

Rapid antigen test kits usually range in price from $20-25 and contain 2 tests. They might be found at Safeway, QFC, CVS, Sam’s Club, Walgreens, and Walmart. They may also available online on websites such as Amazon, CVS, and Walmart. Demand for tests is high so please contact your preferred vendor ahead of time to inquire about their supply. 

PCR Test

  • Pixel by LabCorp:  LabCorp will send the test kit to your home via FedEx for a self-test that you ship back to LabCorp. Options for payment include: billing your health insurance; utilizing federal dollars for the uninsured; or pay with credit card.

Rapid Molecular Test



Jefferson Healthcare has relaunched the dedicated COVID-19 Nurse Consult Line 360-344-3094. Nurses will follow up with patients within 24-48 hours to triage symptoms.

Individuals with mild, COVID-like symptoms, who do not want medical help and only want to be tested for COVID can pick up a self-swab test kit outside the Express Clinic entrance at the main hospital. Hospital will bill health insurance if patient is insured. Click here for full details.
